Crowns and Bridges To Protect Your Teeth in Gainesville

Watch Video

Dr. Taylor can protect and keep badly decayed or fractured teeth while maintaining a beautiful smile with crowns and bridges. Made to perfectly match the shape and shade of your other teeth, they’re durable, strong, and undetectable.

Crowns should be placed before the tooth is so decayed that it may fracture. This can often help prevent the expense of root canal therapy in the future. If a tooth is too damaged to have a crown applied, a porcelain bridge may be a good alternative.

Gum disease is treated by carefully removing the bacteria and substances that form in the pockets around the teeth. The removal of this material occurs on a microscopic level and requires great skill. Our dental team at Taylor Dentistry has advanced training and experience to effectively remove all of the bacteria and will treat you with care and precision.

Dr. Taylor can reduce stress and anxiety associated with dental treatment with Anxiolysis. Anxiolysis makes use of a prescription medication that induces a drowsy, relaxed feeling. This is an oral medication that may be used in conjunction with nitrous oxide to enhance the effect safely. During Anxiolysis, a patient’s vitals are constantly monitored.

Due to the relaxing effects of the treatment, a friend or family member must drive the patient to and from the office.

Dr. Taylor Will Transform Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are very thin porcelain pieces that are custom-made to adhere directly to the front of teeth without grinding or shaving. Taylor Dentistry can transform your smile without drilling on your natural teeth!

In the hands of a highly skilled dentist, porcelain veneers can provide you with an incredibly natural, beautiful smile. They are virtually undetectable and can dramatically improve your appearance. They are durable and long-lasting when compared to other cosmetic treatments.

Many everyday things like coffee, tea, and wine can significantly dull teeth. Smile-whitening enables Taylor Dentistry to significantly brighten your smile for that dazzling white smile you deserve.

Plastic whitening trays will be made from models of your teeth. You will then place a special whitening gel in each tray and wear the trays in your mouth for several hours per day (many patients wear their trays after dinner and before bed). A significant change in tooth color is usually seen in just four to six weeks.

Welcome to Taylor Dentistry

Transcript: Woman: The great service we provide is because we prepare for it. They’re an individual that we’re pleased are coming to see us. And if they’re taking the time to do that, we need to take the time to know who’s coming in to see us. We spend a lot of time in preparation for each patient’s visit, whatever they’re coming in for. There’s unseen time and attention to detail before the patient ever even steps through the door.

Man 1: This is probably the most professional and caring dentistry facility that I’ve ever gone to. They are very concerned with putting you at ease when you’re in the chair. I basically look forward to coming down here because of the friendly, caring service that I get. And the fact that she gave me my smile and my laugh back.

Man 2: From the time you come in the door, you feel welcome. They want you to leave better than you came in. When you think about going to the dentist, it might not always be positive. But when this care started, it was such a positive impact that, you know, it was a delight to come to the dentist.

Man 3: It’s a very receptive practice in relation to making you feel extremely comfortable when you come in. They have a very friendly-like atmosphere. They have people that are very engaging. So, they ask a lot of questions, and they are always most concerned about what’s important to you. They give you pictures of what you’re going to look like when the process is done. And then you look at this process before you even get started, and based on the smile, you go, “Well, that’s exactly what I want.” They make it happen. They put it in play and you walk out of here and you’re feeling 100% good about your smile.

Meet Doctor Cathy Taylor

Transcript: I do what I do because I truly believe that God led me to this profession. I was 9 years old when I decided I wanted to be a dentist. No family history in medicine or dentistry. And I feel very privileged to have a clinical skill that I can use anywhere that I might go, and that’s what gets me up every day to come to work. I feel like I have this platform of clinical dentistry that I can provide to people that really might not need the dentistry, and they need a human interacting with them, and showing kindness and love, and dentistry just happens to be the path that they find themselves on to get to me. The most rewarding part, I love the team I work with, and I think another rewarding part is when we have patients who value what we’re doing, who appreciate what we’re doing. Just the fact that I’m making an impact on their whole body health, and then they keep wanting to come back and see me. A motto I live by is, do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in our power to act. So, I would want a patient to experience that we are doing more than the average office and team might be doing and that they would feel that authentic compassion from our own internal belief system. I think patients would benefit from my experience and my team’s experience if the patient is looking for comprehensive care. And what I mean by that is looking for someone who wants to provide a quick fix, but with the end game being long-term success.

Great Conservative Option For Restorations

Transcript: I love the option of cosmetic tooth bonding. It is a very conservative approach to enhancing a smile. I love that it can be done oftentimes in a single visit for patients. If a patient is questioning if they’re a candidate for such a thing, come and see us. We’ll let them know.

Lasting Results

Transcript: So, if you’re looking for a quick fix to your smile, and you wanna see brighter teeth in the mirror when you look at yourself, we have an option for that. We can do an in-office whitening session. It’s one-and-done, you come in, you relax, our team takes care of it, and you walk out with whiter teeth. Coming in for in-office whitening is going to achieve a greater level of whiteness than what you can’t get over the counter. We are fans of over-the-counter products, so we don’t discredit them. But if you’re looking for something that will last, that will probably be a lot more comfortable when you’re going through the process, come in and let our team take care of that for you.

Family events, family reunions, friends getting married, we see a lot of people getting ready to go to high school reunions, and they wanna look better. Oftentimes, people are getting ready for family pictures, and they just wanna enhance the color of their teeth, so it doesn’t matter the reason. They might just want their selfies to look better and that’s okay too.

Many Options To Keep You Relaxed

Transcript: Our practice makes anxious patients more comfortable first and foremost by listening to them and identifying what’s making them anxious so that we can deal with that. We also though have options for patients like laughing gas. We also use oral medications for patients prior to them coming in to make their experience more comfortable. Many times, it’s as simple as medication that just helps them relax during care, and many times even fall asleep during care. I think patients with dental anxiety need to feel comfortable at the dentist because their anxiety sometimes has put off needed care for too long. And if we can intervene sooner than later and correct situations, that ideally would give them less anxiety as life goes on. So, if a patient has dental anxiety, and they know they have anxiety, if they will be willing to be transparent with us, so that we know that, our team has no problem taking more time with that patient, even setting up an appropriate time in the morning, or in the afternoon when there’s less distractions going on in the office. We would just ask that that patient let us know so that then we know how we can better take care of them.

We Care For The Root Of The Problem

Transcript: Our practice restores people to good gum health because we actually care for the root of the problem. We have an excellent clinical team in our hygiene department who are fantastic clinicians. This is their passion, this is what they do, this is what they want to do. If you have been told you have gum disease, or if you have a family history of it, or you’re questioning if you have it, come, we have excellent team who can evaluate you, diagnose you. We have a care plan in place. Let us make it happen for you.

Convenient Comfortable Care

Transcript: So, dental x-rays are hugely important for us. You can’t see what you can’t see. So, we have a lot of patients who are a little hesitant about taking x-rays, but we have digital x-rays in the office, far less radiation, they’re done very quickly, and we can see immediately what is revealed on your x-rays.

Personalized Treatment Plans

Transcript: Our practice is set up to give people the smiles they want by basically spending a lot of time listening first, what they like, what they don’t like. Really getting to kind of the deeper issue of what the problem might be before we just assume what the solutions are. We take a lot of time, question, answers, a lot of photographs. Patients look at the photos with us, really diving into even the tiniest details. And then, we start problem-solving based on what their expectations are.

We see a lot of patients who maybe are just unhappy with the coloring of their teeth. So, we have several options for bleaching and whitening. We have patients who come in who maybe have had trauma to their teeth, chipping of their teeth, time, and wear and tear on their teeth. So, we do all sorts of options: bondings, veneers, crowns. Basically, it’s individualized to what the patient’s need is.

If there’s a patient out there, patients who have been questioning if there’s something they can do to improve their cosmetics, enhance their smile, enhance their life, give yourself permission to come and see us. Give yourself permission to spend a little time to know what your options are, and we can see what we can do for you.

Many Options For Restorations

Transcript: These services can do a lot at restoring of function for better chewing efficiency. A lot of times, it improves the aesthetics for patients as well. What we’re focused on, with things like crowns and bridges, is preserving a stable bite for people, so that it’s not just today they’re comfortable, but that years from now, they’re still functioning and enjoying their meals. It’s important to me that my patients know that there are almost always some options to keep or rehabilitate their natural teeth. We don’t want to lose teeth. We want them to stay stable for their whole life. You think about how much enjoyment we get from going out with friends or family and to have a meal. I want patients to go out, enjoy eating, enjoy life, and not have to think about their teeth to do so. So, if you have a tooth that’s broken, if you have teeth that are damaged, we can help you with that. We can provide you options that will restore your bite, that will look like natural, normal teeth, and that will be comfortable. Come and see us.

Transform Your Smile

Transcript: We use dental veneers to highlight a patient’s smile by many times it’s changing the color, oftentimes the shape, sometimes spacing, sometimes length. Pretty much we identify what the patient is unhappy about with their current smile, so we can use the veneers to make what they really want for their smile. So, people who have maybe a long life of coffee drinking, teas, wines, habits like that where they are just unhappy now with the coloring of their teeth, veneers can make a big difference for that. Many patients we see looking for this option have seen changes in the way their teeth look in terms of chipping the edges. They’re comparing photographs of their younger self to their current self, and they would like to look a little more like their younger self. So, if you are thinking you have a small problem, or you are thinking you have a big problem, it doesn’t matter to us. Come and let us check you out. You may be a perfect patient to have dental veneers done, and we would love the opportunity to transform your smile.
